I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone at Blyth Valley Disabled Forum for the wonderful care that you have given to my mam – Dora – over the last 18 months. From the moment I contacted BVDF and spoke to Hazel and met with Pat, I was struck by your professionalism and genuine desire to help and make things as comfy as possible for mam. Every time I have made contact, you have been unfailingly helpful, patient and interested in mam’s welfare. The care team who have attended at mam’s house have also been consistently fantastic. The whole family have been so impressed by the incredibly thorough and professional approach of the carers. All the staff who came to mam’s house were genuinely keen to help her, they were patient and supportive, whilst they always displayed great compassion and empathy.
The care provided by Blyth Valley Disabled Forum has been consistently excellent and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending BVDF to anyone requiring care in the Blyth area.
Thank you.
Laura Baker
Hi my name is Laura Baker and I was asked by Fiona to mention a little bit about what my mam receives. My mam's name is Evelyn Cooper.
She has Multiple Sclerosis and is basically confined to a chair all of her day. Myself and my mam find the forum to be a lifesaver. I for one would not be able to work full time if we didn't have carers.
My mam has carers 7 days a week, pretty much 3-4 times a day. The care she receives in the morning. Her dinner time service involves again helping her to have her dinner and provide her with drinks. Same really with an afternoon service.
Her evening service 4 times a week involves helping her upstairs to bed. The services can also involve use of hoists, wheelchairs and whatever else my mam needs. I can really say I have no complaints whatsoever about the care my mam receives. She and indeed I see her carers more often than family sometimes and we have.a great relationship. I trust all of her carers with her needs and they are very professional at all times. They look after my mam so well and even me sometimes. Even if it's just asking how my day has been, something as simple as that makes me feel so comfortable with them. Also all the staff at the office are always helpful whenever I or my mam ring up for anything, whether it be reception, Hazel, Lee and especially Pat and Fiona.

Dear Laura
Can I take this opportunity to thank all the Blyth Valley Disabled Forum's care staff for the way they are taking care of my wife.
In November my wife's health deteriorated so much she was taken to hospital and kept in for five months. During this time she lost the use of her legs and has very little movement in her hands and arms. So I must admit I was extremely concerned about how I was going to cope when she came home as I had no experience with caring for anyone and my wife has always been very independent and had always done everything for herself. So I was really concerned about how she would react to some strangers doing all the essential things for her. But I need not have worried as the care staff from Blyth Valley Disabled Forum quickly put my wife at ease and have been fabulous with her. They are so friendly and caring, even when my wife has a bad day and makes their job harder they are still very friendly and professional and just chat away to her.
Once again thank you.

To: Carers & Members of Staff - The Disabled Forum
Dear All,
I would like to thank you all for the diligent care and attention given to B. in her last few months. All the family are very grateful and know that without people like yourselves, B. would never have been able to spend the precious time she had at home with her family.
I know that many of you would say “That’s our job”, but I know that all of you give that little bit extra because you care for the people you look after. Although your work is not always easy, each individual carer adds something unique to make your client’s time extra special and I know that you all brought a little laughter and joy to B. whilst she was at home.
Thank you all for the time and effort in making B. so comfortable and at ease with her situation.
Warmest Regards
J.M. & Family
